Money

What a Goa trip costs — without fake numbers

A webpage that prints a villa rate or a scooter price is guessing — or selling last year’s brochure. We will not do that. Here is how the money usually divides, so you can send dates with a real range in mind.

The big line is the stay

A private house for a week is almost always the largest number. Christmas week and New Year cost more and fill first. Shoulder and monsoon weeks are quieter; we will say what is left when you write, not invent a spare villa here.

Getting around

A scooter is cheaper than a car with a driver. A pre-booked airport pickup beats a tired haggle. We confirm hire and transfers for your dates — we do not publish a tariff table we cannot keep honest.

Food and days out

Thalis and house cooking stay reasonable. A tourist-strip dinner is a different bill. Activities (a dive day, a tandem flight) are priced by the operator that week — ask us, and we will quote what they actually said.

What to tell us

A range, a must-have (pool, cook, quiet), and who is coming. That is enough to reply with real options. A “budget trip” and a “one good house” are both fine; they are not the same enquiry.

When to go

Peak winter is the tightest and the most expensive. Monsoon and late spring are when a good house is more likely to be free. We still will not print a number we have not checked.
