Trying to see everything in one go usually means airports and exhaustion. A strong first trip is often Meghalaya alone, or Guwahati–Kaziranga–a hill town, or a Sikkim circuit with room for weather.

When to go
October–April suits most circuits. Meghalaya shines in (and after) rain if you pack for it. Mountain roads in Sikkim/Arunachal need seasonal honesty.
