We usually build around two or three bases so you are not living out of a suitcase. Jaipur for the first hit of colour and craft. Udaipur when you want water and quieter evenings. Jaisalmer or Jodhpur when the desert is the point.
Families tend to want heritage hotels with easy logistics. Couples often ask for a night under the stars outside Jaisalmer. Groups like a mix — city days, then one slower fort town where the schedule can breathe.

Jodhpur
Blue streets under Mehrangarh — a strong midpoint if you want desert without only dunes.
Pushkar / Bikaner
Add-ons when you have an extra day or prefer a less crowded rhythm.

When to go
October to March is the sweet spot. Summers are harsh for long days outdoors; monsoon can work if you accept heat and the odd storm.
